More About the South-South Export Forum

South-South Exports Enlightenment & Engagement Forum is a strategic platform structured by NEXIM Bank to engage South-South public-private sectors’ actors and stakeholders on export frameworks and mechanism to enable them regularize and become exportable by understanding what, why, and how to access key technical and funding interventions required to scale-up existing export activities for maximum and significant impact in the nation’s economy.

As export barriers are collapsing regionally and globally in the wake of globalization; Nations are optimizing and streamlining their export processes to enable exporters to increase capacities as well as welcome more actors to maximize export opportunities. Nigeria as a critical export actor, in terms of the Nation’s position in Africa and trade importance in the community of nations, its driving this campaign through NEXIM Bank to create awareness and educate stakeholders already operating in the export environment and those planning to join in this mandate of increasing the export share of other sectors of the economy thereby reducing the current export market dependency on oil and natural gas which accounts for more than 91% of the total exports.

With the economic diversification agenda of the current administration; it has become critical to engage and optimize different sectors such as Agriculture, Manufacturing, Solid Minerals, energy etc to become exportable. This forms the core objective behind this Forum.
